Biography:
Dr. Gerardo Rodríguez Quiroz studied Oceanology in the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Mexico in 1989 and has a Ph.D. degree from CIBNOR, SC. He is full-time professor and researcher at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional since 1999. He has been conducting research on organic aquaculture and the relation between artisanal fishermen and natural protected areas in Mexico. He has directed 8 theses, which include 2 Ph.D. degrees and 6 M.S. degrees. Since 2010, he has been member of the National Researcher System (SNI) of CONACYT and has been granted the 1998 Baja California Environmental Award.
